Profile

Director of International Cooperation and Research Promotion (ICAP) at OGS. Member of the board of directors of the Advanced Master in Sustainable Blue Growth jointly organized by OGS and the University of Trieste. Professor of Sustainable Development and Science Diplomacy at Euclid Intergovernmental University. He holds a Ph.D. (Doctorate) in methods for monitoring environmental change, University of Trieste; a Master in Open Innovation and Knowledge Transfer (MIT) at the Politecnico di Milano; a Master of Sciences (M.Sc.) in environmental management from the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Chania, Crete, Greece and a degree in Engineering from the ESAM School of Engineering - University of Tunis II, Tunisia. Former United Nations officer, in-charge of fellowship programme and technical assistance activities for the benefit of developing countries through capacity building, technology transfer and mobility projects, at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO’s International Center for Science and High Technology). Member of the Union of the Mediterranean (UfM) advisory board Med4Jobs (Mediterranean for Jobs) initiative and member of several committees such as TWAS (The World Academy of Science), OWSD (Organization of Women in Science in Developing World), initiatives on Science Diplomacy and Science Refugees and EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF). Mounir Ghribi is appointed by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) to represent Italy in various international initiatives, namely: the 5+5 Dialogue for Research, Innovation and Higher Education (the intergovernmental forum for the Western Mediterranean) and the G7 future of the seas and oceans. Since 2020, he coordinates the internationalization activities and partnerships with the Southern Mediterranean shore of the national Blue Italian Growth (BIG) cluster.
