Upcoming event! The final conference of the CREATE project
The National Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics - OGS organizes the final event of the project CREATE - Climate Refugees Exist: let’s stArt to Talk about it, co-funded by the Central European Initiative - CEI.
When? The 15th of December from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM (Italian time)
Where? At the University of Trieste and remotely upon registration.
The event will focus on the topic of climate change as a root cause for migration both from an international and scientific point of view thanks to the contributions of Matteo Valentinuz, Protection Associate, UNHCR and Marco Reale, Researcher expert in Climate Change, OGS.
The discussion will be moderated by Sara Tonolo, Professor of International Law, University of Trieste.
The final conference will also include the presentation of the innovative role-playing game developed within the project. In fact, in order to fulfill the urgent need to include climate refugees in the scientific, diplomatic, social and cultural agendas, OGS decided to tackle this sensitive issue through the unconventional method of a role-playing game.
