Deep Blue stories: Alessia in Spain (remotely)

Deep Blue Story #19 | Alessia Rossi is a young researcher and professional from Italy who joined the Deep Blue online traineeship for a three-month experience in collaboration with the Spanish Institute of Oceanography (Spain). Her studies focused on sustainable blue growth tackling “Marine litter and Blue Economy: a case study in Mediterranean touristic areas”. She says: 

“This experience was a great opportunity for my career. I had the possibility to strengthen and improve my knowledge on Blue Growth and sustainable tourism and to acquire new knowledge, tools and competences useful for my future career. I developed a network of colleagues to collaborate with in future. Moreover, as a Blue Growth Ambassadors, I can extrapolate the interview methodology that I developed for Balearic Islands and Tuscan Archipelago stakeholders to other touristic Mediterranean areas to support and boost an international common cooperation and transition towards sustainable tourism”.

Alessia, is now the Innovation Manager for the project “A sustainable tourism for MICE market in Valdichiana” in Chianciano Terme (Italy).

Moreover, she has recently co-founded an innovative startup and Benefit Corporation, named “Moebeus SB”. The aim of this start up is to generate a positive impact on the environment and society, through education and support to the circular economy.
