2019 World Water Day
The students of the second edition of the Advanced Master in Sustainable Blue Growth participated in the activities organised by OGS for the World Water Day 2019.
The study visit in the Chions area included a guided tour of the wastewater treatment plant located in the industrial zone “Ponterosso” in San Vito al Tagliamento. Then the students went to the Parco delle Fonti di Torrate, where here was a brief introduction of the World Water Day with Mounir Ghribi, Director of International Cooperation Department at the Italian Institute of Oceanography and Applied Geophysics – OGS.
After that, they attended the seminar “From the source to our tap. Towards a new paradigm for quality and safety evaluation of the water intended for human consumption and following a guided tour of the water supply pump storage located at LTA - Livenza Tagliamento Acque”, by Enrico Marin.
They finally were awarded a diploma for the UNESCO World Water Day - Water for all.
Also a brief experiment on environmental friendly stove was performed in the area around.
We also had the possibility to see, touch (and drink from!) different kind of resurgent of groundwater!
