Profile

Mauro Reini Ph.D. is an associate professor of Energy Conversion Systems at the Department of Mechanical and Naval Engineering of the University of Trieste (Italy). He received his graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Padova and a Ph.D. in Energy Engineering from the same University, in 1994.
He is teaching “Cogeneration and Industrial Energy Conversion Systems” and “Renewable Energy Technologies” at graduate level. Moreover, he was the Director of the Master course INPRESA (Innovation for Energy Saving) in 2007.
He is author of over 90 technical papers, published on international journals, or in the proceeding of Italian and International conferences. He also serves as a reviewer for various international journals and conferences. His research area includes various aspects of the Exergy analysis and Exergy-based cost accounting, the analysis and optimization of multi-component energy systems and energy saving technologies, with special attention to cogeneration and to ORC-based energy recovery systems.
Dr. Mauro REINI was involved in various projects sponsored by the Italian Ministry for the Research and the University and he participated to the research activity PIACE (Adaptive and Intelligent Platform for high Efficiency Cogeneration in the residential sector). He has also conducted energy saving studies for several companies of the industrial and tertiary sectors.
He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Efficiency Cost Optimisation Simulation and Environmental Impact of Energy Systems (ECOS) Conference organization and of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). In the year 2013 he received the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) as Full Professor of Energy Conversion Systems.
